On the 22nd of January 2007 various districts in the Chanchamayo-Junín province suffered big damages because of the constant heavy rains in the area. Before this, the Apostolic Vicariate of San Ramón started to work with the affected people and the Mainel foundation collaborated with the donation of 80 mattresses for the affected families.
